Finally! I actually made the video a few days ago but the audio wasn’t matching up with the video so I had to record it again :(

ANYWAY

Skincare tips

-Drink as much water as you can. I like to drink a glass of water as soon as I wake up and right before I go to bed. I also keep a bottle of water in my bag at all times so I can stay hydrated on the go.

-Try and replace soda with water or juice if you can. Soda has a lot of sugar which isn’t good for your teeth, skin or your general health.

-Try and cut back on the greasy and fatty foods- fried foods, snacks (chips, chocolate, candy etc), junk food (mcdonalds, kfc and friends)

-I use the Clean & Clear exfoliating wash twice a day no matter what. I wash my face in the morning when I wake up and at night before I go to bed no matter how tired/ lazy I am.

-Try and wash your face with cold water (if you can) because it closes the pores on your face so that dirt and bacteria can’t really get in.

-Keep your face moisturized as much as possible with an oil free moisturizer. I like to use the Simple brand because it is really lightweight and inexpensive.

-Allow your face to breathe once in a while, try and cut down the number of days you apply a full face of makeup. You can substitute foundation with tinted moisturizer (mix a little foundation with your face moisturizer) or use powder only for the day.

-Try not to sleep with your makeup no matter what.

-Wash your brushes often-every 1-2 weeks because they harbor a lot of bacteria which can cause you to breakout.

-You can use facial masks every now and then to rejuvenate your skin. You can make honey+lemon masks, oatmeal masks or yogourt masks at home.

-Mix about 3 tablespoonfuls of honey with one teaspoon of lemon juice, apply to your face and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes and wash off. For the oatmeal mask, soak about 4 tablespoonfuls of oatmeal in water until they soften (do not boil), apply to your face and allow it to sit for 30 mins. The oatmeal sucks up all the excess oil on your face and this mask is good if you have extremely oily skin.

Magic

-Tea tree oil works magical wonders. Dab a drop on your spots at night (only at night because it smells horrible) and it will zap the spots away by the time the morning comes.

-Mix a few drops of vitamin e oil with your moisturizer for smoother and more toned skin.

These are just a few tips I have, feel free to let me know what you do and I can make this list longer :)

The Basics

Hi guys! Hope you are all great!

This is a compilation of all the videos/posts I have on the basic stuff like foundation, eyebrows, blush and a few hair posts. This is just to make it easier for new readers/new make up users to see (cos who wants to scroll through the whole blog right?) I am making/editing a video on skin care and so I’ll add that to the collection when I’m done. Also, if you look to the left of the blog, there are little tabs titled hair, makeup and nails and so you can just click whichever one you need to go to specific posts instead of having to scroll through the whole blog. Alrighty enjoy.

Guys, I want to do a post on skin care would you prefer a video or a written post or both?

Blush Tips & Tricks / Rambles

Okay I know that everyone isn’t going to watch the video because its so long (sorry I just had so much to say) sooo here are the main points/tips I talk about. But if you have some free time and don’t mind me rambling on and on feel free to watch the video.

I think the main aim of blush is to give you a natural flushed look. I don’t think it’s supposed to make a statement of its own especially if you have eyeshadow going on as well as lipstick. Honestly, I don’t even feel like I know all there is to know about blush because it is a really iffy product and can make or break your face. I have definitely had bad experiences with blush :/ and of course you only realize when you are looking at pictures of yourself  2 weeks later  :/

2 main brushes I use for blush are

angled brush- for darker colour

stipple brush- my faveourite so I use it for ‘everyday blush’

Blush No-Nos

-using powder brushes to apply blush
-using those little brushes from makeup sets to apply your blush
-using too much blush
-using the ‘wrong’ colour

Tips

-Shake out excess blush from your brush before you apply it

-People with darker skin tones should try and use darker shades of blush because lighter shades will make your cheeks look ashy

-People with lighter skin tones should use lighter shades because dark blushes will make your face look like its on fire

-If you are trying out blushes in the shop, step out and take a picture of yourself to see what the blush really looks like because most of the time the lighting in the store is fixed in a particular way so they can sell more of their products

-If you have big cheeks do not start applying blush from the apple of your cheeks, start from the sides to highlight and bring out your cheek bones

-If you have small/non existent cheek bones, emphasize them by starting your application from the apples of your cheeks

-Make sure you don’t bring the color too close to your nose since that will shrink up your face

I think the main tip to remember is you don’t want to look burnt and you don’t want to look ashy. Hope this is helpful :) please send me questions and let me know what else you want to see/ hear.

Oh just to give you an idea of what too much blush looks like, here are some pictures. I have nothing against these women but their blush wasn’t looking too great on that day :/ Plus they have other things going on - red lipstick, smokey eyes, lashes
